Penguin Chillers 316 Stainless Steel Exchanger Water Chiller

Before you buy

Penguin no longer sells this as its own listing. The 316 stainless steel shell and coil is now an exchanger option on five water chillers: the 1/2 HP HE, 1 HP, 1 HP HE, 1.5 HP and 2.5 HP. The standard 1/2 HP is titanium only.

• Ports on the 316 version are 3/4-inch female NPT; titanium models use 1-inch.
• It weighs a little more: 44 pounds for the 1/2 HP HE, 64 for the 1 HP, 66 for the 1 HP HE, 100 for the 1.5 HP, per Penguin's comparison chart.
• Everything else matches the titanium version: 37 to 100°F with water, indoor use only, no pump included.
• Warranty: 1 year included, with paid 2- and 3-year extensions.

How to choose: Penguin frames the coil as a fluid-compatibility decision, and titanium is the default on every model. If you treat plunge water with something unusual, tell Penguin what it is before you pick 316.

Digital Controller: The controller constantly monitors your systems incoming fluid temperature, therefore flow is needed at all times in order for it to successfully read current temperatures. When your fluid temperature moves above the set point, the controller turns the compressor and fan on and begins cooling the water. Once the set point temperature is reached the compressor and fan will turn off.

Convenient Setup

The 1 HP chiller plugs into a standard 110V outlet and draws only 3.9 Amps. The compact size allows flexible positioning. It can pair with a variety of pumps up to 1800 GPH.
