Before you buy

Penguin no longer sells the chiller-and-insulated-tub combo new. It shows up only as an option on Penguin's refurbished page, and that option was out of stock on October 29, 2026. Penguin's current complete systems are the Beyond Cold Journey (inflatable), Pursuit (acrylic) and Summit (all-in-one).

Owners: the chiller is Penguin's Cold Therapy Chiller, and Penguin keeps separate manuals for current and discontinued designs. Match the guide to your unit's label. Replacement 5-inch cartridges and inline screens are still sold; confirm the fit.

  • Keep the pump running continuously; Penguin advises against timers.
  • Disconnect and drain the chiller completely before air temperatures reach freezing.
  • Keep the chiller at or below the tub floor and close to the drain so the pump stays primed.

At Plunge Junkies, we know that ice baths provide incredible health and recovery benefits. However, filling and maintaining a tub full of ice can be tedious and time-consuming. That's why we offer the Penguin Chillers Cold Therapy Chiller & Tub---an easy way to get the benefits of cold immersion therapy at home.

Chiller Provides Consistent, Low Temperatures

The heart of the system is the powerful 3/4HP chiller, which circulates and cools the water, providing consistent temperatures even down to high 30°F with the right conditions. The chiller runs quietly at just 56 decibels - quieter than an average conversation.

The chiller works by efficiently removing heat from the tub and transferring it outside. It turns on automatically whenever the temperature rises above your set point and turns off when the desired temperature is reached again. This allows the system to maintain cold temperatures while using minimal electricity.

Large 100-Gallon Tub Provides Full Body Immersion

Grizzly 400 Cold Plunge Tub Demensions

The tub itself is made from durable polyethylene plastic and holds 100 gallons of water. It measures 54.5′′ x 31′′ x 32′′ on the exterior and 43.25′′ x 24.5′′ x 30′′ on the interior. This provides enough space for full-body immersion for most users.

The tub features 2 inches of thick polyurethane foam insulation on all sides to minimize heat transfer from the outside environment. This allows the chiller to work efficiently, keeping your water cold, even in hot conditions or direct sunlight.

Quick Connect Hose and Removable Filter

The chiller connects to the tub through a supplied quick-connect hose, making set up and take down a breeze.

Water circulates through a removable filter canister housing a reusable 150-micron filter. This traps particulates and keeps your water clear. The filter is easily removed for rinsing when needed.

Convenient and Affordable to Run

The system runs on a standard 110V outlet and uses an energy-efficient 450 Watts while running. This results in estimated monthly electricity costs between $15-$25.

The chiller and tub are designed to be left running continuously for maximum convenience and lowest maintenance. Follow the manufacturer’s instructions for treatment and water changes.

Reliable and Made in USA

The chiller is rainproof, so you can leave it outside year-round. It carries a free 1-year warranty and is proudly made in the USA.

Benefits of Cold Water Immersion

Why use a cold tub in the first place? Immersing your body in cold water provides a wide range of health and recovery benefits:

  • Faster Workout Recovery: Cold water immersion constricts blood vessels and decreases inflammation, helping flush waste products from exercise and reduce muscle soreness. Even just 5-10 minutes in cold water can aid workout recovery.
  • Improved Circulation: The cold causes blood vessels to constrict then dilate, improving circulation throughout your body. This brings oxygen and nutrients to tissues and may help reduce blood pressure over time.
  • Calorie Burn: Your body has to work to heat itself back up after being in cold water. This causes an increase in metabolism which burns extra calories.
  • Better Sleep: Cold exposure before bed can help lower body temperature and induce better sleep.
  • Stress Reduction: Initial cold exposure triggers a shock response, but can ultimately have anti-anxiety and stress-reducing benefits. Cold stimulates the vagus nerve which controls the parasympathetic nervous system.
  • Boosted Immunity: Frequent cold exposure may help boost levels of certain white blood cells and antibodies. It also increases metabolic rate and blood circulation which helps fight sickness.
  • Improved Mood: The cold triggers the release of feel-good endorphins as well as the neurotransmitter norepinephrine which can boost mood.
  • Skin & Hair Benefits: The cold constriction and dilatation increases blood flow to the skin and scalp. This nourishes hair follicles and skin, increasing shine and radiance.

Start Your Cold Therapy Journey
