Before you buy

Still sold, in titanium or 316 stainless. Penguin rates it at 15,000 BTU/hr and 37 to 100°F with water, on ordinary 110 to 120V power.

• Power: 110 to 120V, 11 A, 1,270 W, 6-foot cord. That alone is most of a 15 A circuit; ask an electrician before a pump shares it.
• Size: Penguin's page gives two answers. The spec table says 19.25 x 19.75 x 14.25 inches and 79 pounds; the comparison chart says 26.5 x 23.75 x 18 inches and 96 pounds (100 with 316 stainless). Confirm before you build a shelf for it.
• 61 dBA. Ports: 1-inch female NPT, 3/4-inch on 316 stainless.
• Pump not included. Penguin recommends a Danner Mag Drive 5.0 to 18, or any pump rated under 10 PSI (23 feet of head).
• Indoor use only. Water must flow whenever the chiller is on. Unplug the chiller before you stop the pump.
• Warranty: 1 year included, with paid 2- and 3-year extensions.
