Built different. On purpose.
A handcrafted cedar barrel for daily cold water immersion. The Baltic Plunge Tub from Dundalk Leisurecraft is a one-person cold plunge built in Canada from Eastern White Cedar, with a heavy-duty HDPE liner and stainless steel bands. It arrives fully assembled and ready to fill.
Cedar that stands up to the outdoors. Eastern White Cedar is naturally resistant to rot and decay, so the Baltic looks and lasts beautifully indoors or out. The stainless steel bands reinforce the barrel and add a clean contrast to the wood.
Deep enough to fully submerge. The interior measures about 31 inches across and 41 inches deep, with a molded seat, so you can sink in to the shoulders. It holds roughly 150 gallons of water.
Ice bath or chiller, your call. Drop in ice for a classic cold plunge, or add a Penguin or Coldture chiller to hold water as low as 37 F without hauling ice. The Baltic empties through a garden-hose drain connection.
Ships fully assembled, made in Canada. There is no barrel to build. Set it in place, fill it, and plunge. Backed by a 5 year residential limited warranty.

Use your HSA or FSA
May be HSA/FSA eligible with a Letter of Medical Necessity. A cold plunge is a dual-purpose wellness item, so it may qualify as a medical expense under IRS Section 213(d) when a licensed provider documents that you need it to treat or manage a specific diagnosed health condition, rather than for general wellness. In practice that means a Letter of Medical Necessity (LMN), which you can get from your own doctor or from a telehealth service that issues them. You do not need TrueMed. Keep in mind a letter alone does not guarantee eligibility, so whether yours qualifies depends on your provider tying it to a real condition and on your own plan.
On payment: many HSA and FSA debit cards only work at merchants with a health-care category code, so they are often declined at a general store like ours. The most reliable way is to pay at checkout with a regular card, keep your itemized receipt and your LMN, and request reimbursement from your plan administrator. Confirm what your plan covers and how to file before you buy, since every plan is different. This is general information, not tax or legal advice. Questions? Text us at (608) 909-8117 and we will help.

Other options to consider
See all Cold Plunge Tubs →FAQ
Does the Baltic come with a chiller?+
No. The tub ships without a chiller so you can add ice for a classic cold plunge, or choose a chiller that suits your climate. It works with the Penguin Cold Therapy Chiller and the Coldture Water Chiller Pro, both available as add-ons. Text us at (608) 909-8117 to add one.
How cold does it get?+
With a compatible chiller the Baltic holds water as low as 37 Fahrenheit. Without a chiller you run it as an ice bath.
How deep is it and can I sit down?+
The interior is about 31 inches across and 41 inches deep with a molded seat, so you can submerge to the shoulders while seated.
Does it ship assembled?+
Yes. The tub arrives fully built, with the cedar, bands, and liner already assembled at the factory. The only setup is threading on the supplied drain hardware, a few minutes with an adjustable wrench, then you place it, fill from a garden hose, and plunge. If you add a chiller, it connects to the pre-drilled ports.
Does it need plumbing?+
No. Fill it with a garden hose and empty it through the garden-hose drain connection. A chiller plugs into a normal 110-120V GFCI outlet.
What is it made of?+
Eastern White Cedar on the outside, which naturally resists rot and decay, with a heavy-duty HDPE liner inside and stainless steel bands around the barrel.
Can I add steps and a lid?+
Yes. Matching 3-tier cedar steps and a 36 inch round cedar lid are available as add-ons. Text us at (608) 909-8117 and we will add them to your order.
Can I use my HSA or FSA to buy a cold plunge?+
You may be able to. It depends on your plan and your situation. Because a cold plunge can be used for both general wellness and medical treatment, HSA and FSA rules generally treat it as a medical expense only when a licensed provider gives you a Letter of Medical Necessity (LMN) tying it to a specific diagnosed health condition. A letter is usually required but does not by itself guarantee eligibility. You can get one from your own doctor or a telehealth service, so you are not locked into TrueMed. On payment: many HSA and FSA debit cards only work at health-coded merchants, so they are often declined at a general store like ours. The most reliable route is to pay with a regular card, save your itemized receipt and LMN, and request reimbursement from your plan administrator. Confirm coverage and how to file before you buy, since each plan sets its own rules. We cannot give tax or legal advice, but we are glad to help with the order. Text (608) 909-8117.
How long does delivery take?+
2–3 weeks from order. Cold plunges and saunas ship curbside LTL freight direct from the manufacturer; you'll get tracking and a scheduled delivery window 24-48 hours before drop-off. Chillers and small items ship parcel.
Is shipping really free?+
Free curbside freight on cold plunges and saunas to the lower 48. The carrier delivers to your curb or driveway; you handle final placement and quick DIY setup (we text you through it), or we can refer a local installer. Chillers and accessories ship parcel.
What's the warranty?+
It depends on the brand — every product carries the manufacturer's own warranty, which we pass through and help you file. Dundalk cedar cold plunges carry up to a 5-year residential limited warranty on the tub (parts only); the bundled chiller is typically 1 year. Golden Designs and Maxxus saunas run 5 years on heating elements and electronics, 1 year on the wood. Most other brands are 1–2 years. You generally cover shipping to return a defective part. Full terms are on this product's page — text us and we'll pull them up.
What if something breaks?+
Text us a photo. We diagnose it, file the manufacturer warranty claim for you, and expedite the maker's part. Most issues resolved fast.
Can I return it?+
30-day try-it-cold guarantee on uninstalled products. After 30 days, warranty applies.
